Frequently Asked Questions

1. I haven’t had breast cancer, can I still work with you?

Yes. While I specialise in supporting people after breast cancer, I also work with people navigating other life transitions, whether that’s illness, burnout, grief, career change or a loss of identity. If my approach resonates with you, you’re very welcome here. I’ll always be honest about whether I’m the right coach for you, and if not, I may be able to recommend someone who is.

2. Is your coaching only for women?

I am very aware that all genders, including transgender and non-binary people are diagnosed with breast cancer and therefore I welcome all here. If you’re drawn to my work and feel aligned with my approach, please get in touch.

3. What if I’m still going through treatment?

There’s no ‘right’ time to start coaching. Some clients begin while still in treatment, others wait until things are medically stable. Others are several years post treatment. If you're feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or wanting support in making sense of what’s happening, coaching can help you process and find clarity at any stage.

4. I feel like I should be grateful, but I’m struggling. Is that normal?

Yes, and you’re not alone. Many people feel pressure to “move on” quickly after cancer or trauma, but the emotional healing often begins once treatment ends. There’s no shame in feeling lost or low. This work is about giving you space to feel what you feel, without judgement.

5. Do I need to have a specific goal before I start coaching?

Not at all. Many of my clients come to me unsure of what they want, they just know they feel different, and want support in figuring things out. Together, we create the space for clarity, self-trust, and meaningful next steps to emerge.

6. What’s the difference between your coaching and therapy?

A therapeutic coach blends traditional coaching with deeper emotional work, helping you uncover and rewrite the internal stories that may be holding you back. Unlike life coaching, which focuses solely on setting and achieving goals, or therapy, which often explores the past, therapeutic coaching bridges both offering guidance, self-discovery, and emotional regulation tools to create lasting change.

My coaching focuses on forward momentum, helping you reconnect to yourself, explore what you want next, and make powerful, aligned changes. My therapeutic coaching tools include things like nervous system regulation to help you move out of survival mode and knowledge of theories such as transactional analysis to help you understand yourself better - your drivers, your ego states, your life scripts so that you know that you get to choose and can re-decide at any point.

My clients often comment on the sense of calm and safety that I bring to our work together. Providing a space that allows them to bring the whole of themselves.

While my work is therapeutic and trauma-aware, I’m not a licensed therapist. If you need clinical mental health support, I can help you find the right resources.

7. What does a typical coaching session look like?

Sessions are an hour long and tailored to your needs. We might explore identity, relationships, confidence, career, boundaries, or simply what’s on your heart. I hold space with warmth and depth, using therapeutic tools, reflective coaching, and lived experience to guide the conversation.
