Feeling like an imposter

Feeling like an imposter

I was 23 years old, three months out of university and in the job I imagined I’d have at the end of my career!

Success? It didn’t feel like it. I felt an utter fraud, there by default rather than any merit of my own. The talented, professional woman who had employed me had been made “redundant” and I was promoted into her position.

Instead of success I felt guilt and overwhelm and like an imposter. I didn’t feel as though I was there by any merit of my own. I was waiting to be caught out. For everyone else to realise how out of my depth I felt.

At 23 I’d never heard of imposter syndrome but that’s what I had. I’d been put in a very difficult position but I was perfectly capable of doing the job. I couldn’t see that though.

I lay in bed at night going over and over my day criticising myself and pulling apart every conversation and decision.

I woke again in the early hours panicked at the thought that anytime now everyone else was going to realise what I’d known all along – I was a fraud managing by pure luck than any talent I had for the job.

The joy had gone out of life. What should have been a really exciting time, my first professional job and living in London, became a horrible bleak burden. I lived for Friday but then Sunday night feeling kicked in as early as Saturday afternoon some weekends.

That’s no way to live, but I know that many women do live this way. Lying awake at night analysing the day. Your inner critic loudly pointing out all your faults and failings. Anxious thoughts about what you’ve already done and what you need to do tomorrow or next week.

Does this sound horribly familiar?

It doesn’t have to be this way.

You can take control of your thoughts.

You can train your brain to work for you, not against you.

I no longer lie awake at night worrying.

I am a confident woman who knows her worth.

And you can be too.

You too can switch the self-confidence that you were born with back on.

This is what I do.

This is my zone of genius.

This is what I designed my group coaching programme to do! The doors are open to Your Pathway to Confidence, Clarity and Courage my five-week group coaching programme.

Here’s what Marie, who began the programme struggling with an extremely loud inner critic keeping her awake at night, had to say,

“By the end of the five week programme I had learnt techniques to quieten my inner critical voice. I could not believe how much the techniques worked and was delighted with the results.

The sessions were very helpful and fitted around my active schedule, Clare has designed the programme with busy women in mind.

The other women on the programme were very supportive and together we worked on building our confidence.

If you, like me, want to feel free from the constant worry of not being good enough and believing in my own abilities this programme is for you.”

What makes this programme so unique?
This programme is not just about building confidence. It’s not just about learning. It’s about action. It’s about taking action on the goal or project most important to you because you have the new mindset and support that will allow you to.

  • Weeks one and two we’ll be working on your confidence so that you aren’t putting the brakes on your dreams and desires.

  • Week three we’ll be getting clear about what you value most and what you want from life so that you’re pursuing the things that will make your life rich and fulfilling.

  • Weeks four and five you'll be implementing what you’ve learned and taking action towards one of your personal goals.

I offer a limited number of places on the programme so that I can offer personal input to everyone in the group responding to all questions and comments and providing advice and support.

I know we all have busy lives so everything about this programme has been designed with that in mind! I’ve deliberately designed the programme to be interactive and in bite size pieces.

By the end of the five weeks you’ll:

  • Be more confident so that you can trust yourself and your decisions.

  • Have a confidence toolkit - like a gym for your mind - that will help you to continue to make progress.

  • Have clarity about what you want in each area of your life so that you’re focusing on what is really important to you in order to create the life you dream of.

  • Have already begun to take courageous action towards making that your reality!

  • Be experiencing a more lit up life and well on your way to feeling more happy, joyful and fulfilled.

Imagine how great that is going to feel. No more just talking or dreaming about it. Imagine taking that newfound confidence and clarity into all areas of your life – home, work, relationships.

I want to make this as accessible as possible so the investment in yourself, your confidence and a richer more fulfilling life is just £397 for five weeks of teaching, coaching, support and growth. Access to a gym for your mind!

The course runs from 19th October until 22nd November.
Sign up now and there's an option of two monthly payments of £207.

I'm so excited about this programme and what it can do for you.

Imagine feeling in control of your thoughts instead of your inner critic running the show!

Imagine having a head start on 2021, clear about what you want and having the confidence to go for it before December even begins never mind January 1st!

But remember places are limited so that I can offer a high level of support to everyone on the programme so sign up now and snap up one of those places before they all go.

I can't wait to continue this journey of growth with you!
